WEEKEND WEATHER UPDATE FOR THE HV: Rain showers will be likely Friday morning, but we should gradually dry out during Friday afternoon. I don't see much rain Friday afternoon here in the HV even though it may remain cloudy. Saturday will feature some extra clouds, I'll call it partly sunny, but it does look dry at this point. Sunday looks to be the best day of the weekend with mostly sunny skies expected. Highs this weekend will be in the 70s. The normal high this weekend here in the HV is 79-80F.

Labor Day Forecast Update: Today will not be a washout here in the Hudson Valley. The morning will be mostly cloudy, but mainly dry. The afternoon will be partly sunny with scattered storms. But like yesterday, most of today will be dry. So just keep an eye-to-the sky this afternoon. You may need a rain delay. It will be warm and humid, with highs today in the 80s.

Dewpoints are the measure of how much moisture is in the atmosphere; or better yet, how humid it is! During the summer, dewpoints in the 50s produce very comfortable conditions, while dewpoints in the 70s produce extremely humid conditions. Yesterday, dewpoints were in the 70s here in the Hudson Valley. Today, as you can see, they are falling through the 60s and will be in the 50s by tonight. Therefore, it will be very comfortable outdoors.
-
HV WEEKEND WEATHER UPDATE: Saturday morning will be mostly dry here in the Hudson Valley. Showers and storms will become likely for Saturday afternoon. So while Saturday will not be a total washout, I think everyone will get wet at some point during Saturday afternoon. It will be warm and very humid on Saturday with highs in the 80s. Sunday will be totally dry. Under a partly sunny sky, the humidity and the temperature will also decrease. Highs on Sunday will be in the 70s, which is normal for early September.
-
We will be watching a batch of moisture to the south of the Hudson Valley over the next few days. It looks as if most of this rain will stay just east of the Hudson Valley as we head through the mid-week.However, if this moisture moves more north than northeast, we could see more in the way of rain during the midweek. Stay close to News12 for the very latest over the next 48-72 hours.

Weekend Weather Update for the HV: Friday will be totally dry, breezy and pleasant. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with scattered mainly afternoon showers. While Saturday is not going to be a total washout, I think all of us will see a shower or two at some point. Sunday continues to look totally dry and pleasant.
-
Friday will feature sun and clouds here in the Hudson Valley. It will be dry, but breezy and cool. Highs on Friday will be in the 60s, with the breeze making it feel even cooler. Temps will rebound for the final weekend of summer. Both Saturday and Sunday look sunny, dry and warm with highs reaching back into the 70s.
-
-
An area of low pressure will ride up the east coast on Thursday and will provide us here in the Hudson Valley with some much needed rain. Rain will begin after midnight tonight, and taper off during the afternoon hours on Thursday. Up to 1" of rain is possible at this point; That amount of rain should not produce any flooding in the Hudson Valley. However, things could change, so stay close to News12 over the next 36 hours for updates.
-
Low pressure will slowly ride up the east coast today. The result will be occasional rain here in the Hudson Valley. The rain will stay mainly light however, so no issues are expected. A stiff east wind will make it feel cooler, so take the jacket and the umbrella along today. Dry and warm weather will return for Friday and the weekend.

HV WEEKEND WEATHER UPDATE: Conditions are currently looking dry, but cool for the upcoming weekend here in the Hudson Valley. Saturday will feature sun and clouds, with high temps only in the upper 40s. High temps should be in the middle 50s during early November. While a shower is possible Saturday night, Sunday is looking dry and a bit warmer, with highs creeping back into the lower 50s.
-
Hudson Valley Snow Update: Rain showers will develop here in the HV around 7pm this evening. After 10pm, those rain showers will begin to change to snow showers from west to east here in the Hudson Valley. Overnight snow showers will then come to an end by 7AM Friday morning. At this point, only a coating of snow is possible, and mainly on colder surfaces. With temps around or above freezing, I do not expect much snow on the roads. Stay close to News12 for the very latest as we head into tonight.

WEDNESDAY STORM UPDATE: Here are my thoughts concerning the storm for Wednesday. It looks as if snow and rain will overspead the Hudson Valley Wednesday morning. Orange and Putnam counties will see mainly snow, with Rockland and Westchester seeing rain to start. That rain will then turn to snow as we head through Wednesday afternoon. Most of us will see snow Wednesday night. The snow will end by midnight Wednesday night. At this point, light to moderate snow amounts are possible with the best chance to see moderate snow amounts up near I-84. I will have snowfall numbers for you Tuesday morning.

Weekend Weather Update for the Hudson Valley: Saturday will be mostly cloudy with scattered flurries here in the Hudson Valley. Those flurries will be in response to a push of warmer air, known as a warm front, that will be working through the Hudson Valley. Saturday will not be warm, but by Sunday, highs will reach back into the upper 40s, which is normal for late November. Monday will feature a passing rain shower, with highs up near 50F.
-
-
-
Nor'easter Update for the Hudson Valley: It looks like a December nor'easter will affect the Hudson Valley this week. A light wintry mix will overspread the Hudson Valley Monday night. This wintry mix will change to plain rain for most location south of I-84 by the Tuesday morning commute. Some light snow and ice accumulations will be possible, mainly North of I-287 before the changeover. Plain rain will then fall throughout the day on Tuesday maybe changing back to snow late Tuesday night and Wednesday as the storm departs. Even north of I-84, plain rain is expected to fall my mid-morning on Tuesday. While this storm looks to be mainly rain for the Hudson Valley, a track slightly more to the east could bring more in the way of wintry weather into the Hudson Valley. So stay close to News12 or News12.com for the updates over the next 48-72 hours.

Weekend Weather Update for the Hudson Valley: A "worry-free weather weekend" is on-tap for us here in the Hudson Valley. You can expect plenty of sunshine both Saturday and Sunday, with highs by Sunday reaching into the middle 40s, which is 5 degrees above normal for mid-December. The quiet weather will carry into the start of next week as well. Enjoy!
-
WEEKEND WEATHER UPDATE FOR THE HUDSON VALLEY: That coastal storm for Sunday now looks as if it will pass WELL to the south of the HV. As you can see from this computer model for Sunday, conditions now look totally dry here in the HV! At worst, only some scattered flurries are possible on Sunday. Saturday continues to look totally dry. So it looks like there will be no problems this weekend, as you finish up your holiday shopping.
